Affiliated with UN Habitat and the United Nations, the Consortium for Sustainable Urbanization (CSU) assists in implementing the New Urban Agenda – UN’s declaration on sustainable cities and UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 11). One key component of the New Urban Agenda is quality public space. Public space has always been the focal point for communal action, the locus of collective consciousness and the representation of meaning and morals in a community. How much of this power does public space still have in a digital age?

Join us for a panel discussion on the consequences of the detachment of citizens from their immediate physical urban environment through information technology and speculation on how information technology can be utilized to augment physical public space that can form urban communities in a digital age.
