The consortium of UN, institutional, professional, and academic organizations responsible for UN Conferences on Sustainable Urbanization in the Information Age will focused on the nexus between education, health, architecture and planning, and discussed the methods of development of city-specific plans, such as PlaNYC in New York and Greenworks in Philadelphia. Panelists went beyond best practices to achieve a more generally applicable framework for planning. Connections between issues of social justice, including access to information and environmental justice, have animated the conferences of the Consortium. The panel also addressed a framework for sustainable planning that has the potential for replication.
